Course description:

This course develops students with the technical skills and techniques in design principles/methods, drawing techniques and approaches, 3D technology and processes, marketing, properties of 3D materials, exhibition and retail design and interior design etc. They also develop logical, critical and problem-solving skills plus valuable personal attributes such as communication and presentation skills. It also provides opportunities for learners to progress to higher education vocational qualifications such as a full-time degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or related areas. After graduation, they can work in a range of careers in the design sector such as product designer, graphic designer, creative designer, design consultant, hotel facilities manager/ purchaser, display purchaser/designer etc. in the areas of furniture, jewellery, transport, exhibition and retail, and interior design.

Entry requirements:

Applicant must have completed any one of the following qualifications: Diploma in Computing; China Senior Secondary Year 3 and IELTS score of 5.0; SMU 3 and IELTS score of 5.0; GCE ‘A' levels - 2 passes; ITE Higher NITEC 2.5; STPM - 2 passes; Vietnam Grade 12 and IELTS 5.0; or any other equivalent qualifications. Applicants who don’t have IELTS score of 5.0 are required to attend an English course at a fee.
