Course description:
The Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Certified Service Professional (CSP) is a national training programme that prepares workers to join service sectors which include attractions, food and beverage services, gaming, hotel and accommodation services, MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions), retail, spa and wellness, tour and travel services. The objective of the programme is to prepare the participants to take up service jobs by providing learners with foundational customer service skills. Upon completion of the programme, participants should have the knowledge and application skills to demonstrate competence in the following three competency units of the Service Excellence WSQ framework: provide GEMS service / interact with guests, deliver service excellence, and offer customised and personalised service.
Entry requirements:
The CSP programme is targeted at Singapore citizens and permanent residents who intend to secure employment in the service sectors after training. Those who meet the English language proficiency requirement will be selected for admission into the programme. Minimum English language proficiency for admission into the programme is as follows: Grade 6 in English Language at GCE ‘O’ Level; or Grade 5 in English Language at GCE ’N’ Level; or Level 4 in the Employability Skills System (ESS) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Module in at least 2 Literacy modalities eg reading and listening. Applicants who do not meet the above criteria may take the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) to determine their ESS WPL Level at the following location: Centre for Employability Skills (CES), 141 Redhill Road, Singapore 158828.
Application details:
Students can post the application form together with the cheque payment to the following address: Industry Training Programme Dept, ITE Headquarters, 10 Dover Drive, Singapore 138683. Postal applications must be accompanied or followed-up by cheque payment for confirmation of place. Students must cross the cheque and pay to Institute of Technical Education. At the back of the cheque, they should write their name, NRIC/FIN, course title, contact number and email address. Students can also register at the Customer Service Centres, in person or through an authorised person during the registration period. They must bring along all relevant documents, including NRIC or work pass and the total fees (cheque, cash, NETS, VISA or Mastercard accepted). Post Secondary Education Account (PSEA) may also be used. The Customer Service Centres are located at ITE Headquarters, 10 Dover Drive, Singapore 138683; and ITE College West (Ang Mo Kio Campus), 4300 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, Singapore 569869.
