Temasek Polytechnic (TP) is both a great place for studies and activities such as sports. In TP, i learn to be very active, sociable and make many friends. A bonus for me is that I live really near to the institution, so it only take a couple of minutes of bus ride. If you live in another part of Singapore, the travelling time can take an hour or so, depending on the location. TP has a good reputation, good facilities and outstanding achievements. In my course, the lecturers are really friendly and I enjoy every bit of the course.

The O level grades is quite crucial to get into your desire course. Different courses has different requirements. My advice is to read the prospectus carefully.

ratingFunding and scholarships

I think there are funding opportunities but I'm not so sure where to get them. I suggest students to talk to the administrative office from the respective schools.

ratingYour study experience

I think lecturers are very important, if they are able to make the course interesting, students will enjoy it even more. My course in food science and technology was not one of my top priority choices but I enjoy it so much because the lecturers are really friendly and they teach really well. My course in Food Science allows students to choose between nutrition and food technology in the second year, depending on the students' interest. This course can be demanding at times because of the lab work, the tutorials, the lecturers, projects and assignments. But students definitely benefit alot out of it.

Life experience is generally alright. In Singapore, i feel i do not get much of a life because of the huge amount of workload and also the environment can be rather competitive. I live with my parents and it is very easy to find part-time work here especially when you go through an agent.

ratingJob prospects

It depends on the market, i think in singapore, food market is quite small but then again it is expanding so, i reckon it will increase.
